This week, we were delighted to welcome over 180 pupils from St Paul’s School and Stockingford Academy into church across two days, as they journeyed through the Nativity story in a creative and thoughtful way.
The children explored the Christmas story through six interactive stations, each focusing on a different part of the Nativity. At every station, the story was shared and followed by gentle questions, encouraging the pupils to reflect on the events and the people involved. Along the way, they took part in hands-on activities, including drawing a gift they would choose to give to the baby Jesus.
At the final station, the children placed their gifts before the baby Jesus, bringing their journey through the story to a meaningful and reflective close.
The six stations were:
-
The Preparation – thinking about preparing our hearts as well as our homes during Advent
-
The Announcement – the angel’s visit to Mary
-
The Promises – the birth of Jesus foretold
-
The Journey – Mary and Joseph travelling to Bethlehem
-
The Message – the angels appearing to the shepherds
-
The Gift – God’s gift of Jesus to the world
It was a joy to see the children engage so thoughtfully with the story, and we’re very grateful to the schools, staff, and volunteers who helped make these visits such a special part of our Advent journey.
