St Paul’s Church, Stockingford – Growing Faith Families Worker
£24,000 pro rata + pension scheme, 20 hours per week
(including some evening and weekend work, two-year position)
St Paul’s Stockingford is a welcoming, informal, liturgical church with a heart for its community and a long history of serving children, young people and families. We are ready for the next stage of our journey – can you help us?
The PCC of St Paul’s Stockingford seeks to appoint someone to
- help us develop a culture where children and young people are in involved in all aspects of worship, ministry and mission in churches, schools and households
- realise the possibilities for faith development for children and young people through creative and supportive relationships between schools, churches and households.
This appointment by the PCC of St Paul’s Stockingford is made possible by support from the Diocese of Coventry who, in seeking to fulfil its Missional Purpose of “Worshipping God, Making New Disciples, and Transforming Communities”, is excited to be a trail blazing diocese pioneering the National Growing Faith project in the Deanery of Nuneaton.
The primary focus of this role is to grow faith in children, young people and families in the context of local church utilising the strong relationships the local church has established with its schools, community and voluntary organisations. This role has a strong pioneering thread running through it, by which we mean being the first to lead ministry into new places for and with others. Pioneers are people able to see a new future, and have the skills and gifts needed to make that a reality.
The Growing Faith Families Worker will also be part of a team disseminating good practice across the deanery and diocese. They will provide training and mentoring for other local parishes and will enable parishes across Nuneaton Deanery to have ready access to resources and expertise for Growing Faith in churches, schools and households.
We are seeking to recruit someone with:
- a vibrant Christian faith
- a passion for enabling children, young people and families to grow in faith
- a desire to see schools, churches and families working together to transform and bless their communities.
The post holder should have experience of working with youth/children’s work in a paid or voluntary capacity, experience of supporting families, excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of audiences, including children, parents, teachers and governing bodies.
