The PCC met 15 May, when the following items were discussed:
Christian Aid Week 9-15 May -Some street collections already taken place, stall in Ropewalk had raised £600 to date, Italian evening £335.
Finance: Giving in envelopes had fallen; and income of £3000 per month needed to meet parish share. Fabric Fund had increased to around £4000. Awaiting payment of gift aid claim. Gas bill to be sorted out. Projection system – two quotes received for different systems, a further quote to be obtained.
CUF funding acquired for Oasis group and further Workcare sessions.
Buildings and Finance – Lighting for stairways needed for Health and Safety. A quote of £327 received. Socket points need to be replaced with automatic cut out units – quote of £468 for 10 double points. This to be checked with architect. Volunteer for cleaner – hours to be logged and paid. Kitchen area will require a refit in the near future and a new cooker, plus a fast dishwasher if possible. No update on planning permission for storeroom – architect would be contacted.
Pastoral and Social – No meeting
Worship and Spirituality: Feedback on Lent course and services, mixed reactions, some less positive. Summer talks to be arranged, discussion regarding children’s workshops as numbers often fluctuated. It was felt these should continue.
Mission and Outreach: No meeting
Eco-congregation – forms to be completed
Correspondence – letter regarding use of church hall – future lettings to be considered in more detail.
